Glen Washington clarifies statement about Grammy ballot

On Tuesday, 30 October, the Jamaica Gleaner published an interview with reggae singer Glen Washington referencing a Grammy nomination. While his Masterpiece album is currently one of the reggae albums available for consideration by Grammy voters, Glen Washington made the following statement to clarify that  albums have not yet reached the nomination stage:

“Many thanks to all my fans for their support of my album Masterpiece. In yesterday’s Gleaner it appeared the album has been nominated for a Grammy and I want to clarify while the album is on the ballot to be nominated the actual nominees will be announced December 5. Many thanks for all the love.”

Masterpiece has received love from around the globe including a coveted ‘highly recommended’ nod from the CD Hot List which noted, “His energy and the quality of his songwriting haven’t flagged a bit. Highly recommended to all collections with an interest in reggae”.
